I've had MassHealth for almost two years now, and recently got a new job (full-time). The insurance they offer is a ton of money (for a family plan at least, which is what I need). Is there any chance I'm able to stay on MassHealth?

I already called and let them know about the new job. They asked for me to send them two pay stubs and they'd get back to me, but they didn't mention what the cutoff is to stay on MassHealth. I've heard they offer assistance, but I can't seem to find any info on their website.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks.

MassHealth must have a contact number that you have been using for these past 2 years ? Just ask them.

There's a sliding scale, but you'll have to go to "Commonwealth Connector" to see what your options are. It's not a particularly well laid out website, but there's information there. Beware of the dental plans. I saw one which appeared to cost over $1200 per year, but was limited to a maximum annual pay-out of $1000.

He/She said she already called them. I dealt with them for an elderly man and you couldn't get a straight answer out of them even IF someone actually picked up the phone. There's a reason why the person is asking here.

He, lol, but everything else you said was accurate.

I asked them very direct questions, was put on hold, and then asked to send in my pay stubs and that they'd get back to me after that.

I'll get my answer eventually, just wanted to see if anyone else had any experience with this beforehand.

Edit: you edited your post and made it gender neutral while I was replying lol.

Thank you.

I was going to accept the dental insurance my work offered since it was actually affordable. It's the regular insurance I'm mostly concerned with.

I am inclined to believe if insurance is offered through your employer, unless you are part-time or a very low wage earner, MassHealth will not supplement or even allow you to take their plans.

I thought that was the case.
I work 24-29 hours a week, my employer doesn't offer me insurance, I've got Mass Health thorough Fallon no issues.

You can try to contact your state representative or state senator (not U.S. representative or U.S. senator). You can look them up here: www.wheredoivotema.com. They can often times get an answer for you more quickly... or have a dedicated staff person who is familiar with health insurance issues that can answer right away.
