My husband just took a job in Lakeville.
I have never been to the area and have to idea where to start looking.
We both love the outdoors, are active cyclists, no kids at home.
We are both in our early 50s - so don't need a booming night life!
We would love to find a small house with a yard (2 dogs).
Rural is fine as long as the necessities are within driving distance!
In fact, we are moving from the city - quiet would appreciated!
He would like to leave the commute 45 minutes max.

Lakeville itself will probably meet your needs. If you want to be closer to the ocean then maybe consider Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Marion, Mattappoisett or Wareham.
Lakeville or any town around there (except Taunton) would be fine.
