I shopped at the Bellingham MB today and on a couple of items I agree that were a bit more but overall MB seemed normal.

I wonder if Artie T will be able to keep the prices low like they were with all the loans he had to take to buy out the other side.

The store was not as crowded as it usually is but maybe it's because it's Tuesday.

The mobs are gone from Donelan's now that Westford's MB is open again.

I still wonder how a MB can do in Littleton only four miles away from the new MB in Westford.

I read that MB was not going to open as many new stores as planned, so perhaps the Littleton one will be delayed.

That's been my hope after reading that same article. I don't get why there have to be two MBs four miles apart- seems foolish.

Visiting a friend down in the DC area a few years ago, I was shocked at the number of Safeways there were in a relatively small area. It seemed like there was one on every other block. And if there wasn't one, there was a competitor. It's the same thing the further south one goes.

That just seems so bizarre to me. Seriously, if you have multiple stores that close together, their profit must be tiny compared to, say, one Chelsea-sized MB?

On average, Americans spend less than fifteen minutes traveling to and from grocery shopping. [Source: US Department of Agriculture.] In some parts of many large cities, much of that travel is by foot. It would therefore make sense that market areas would be as little as a half mile in diameter.

What does it take to get hired at MB? Anybody know? I tried many times and could never get an interview.

No harm trying again as long as the individual store is hiring.

The Artie T side was never greedy. While they work hard and earn a comfortable life style, they are the types that would reach into their own pockets to help pay the debt off versus raise prices as their first line of defense.

I cannot say the same for Arthur S.

I know what I speak of.

There's no way to know if they are hiring or not. It seems to be sporadic. Or an employees friend takes their place. The managers of this company don't seem to like job applicants to be persistant, for whatever reason.
