What about Maynard? Just a super quick Century21 search and I see houses for a starter in our range. Is there a reason? Drugs/ bad downtown etc. we didn't get a chance to actually visit today but how far from Concord is it?

Maynard is right next to West Concord. Maynard people use the South Acton and West Concord train stops to commute on the Fitchburg line. Very up and coming with hipsters and other young families. I would expect increasing value on a Maynard home.

Maynard is a fine town. Working-class background, some rehab, some auto parts places on the drive in and out. Modest living (for the area) but an easy drive to Concord for urbanity, if that's what draws you. There's nothing bad about it. It's just that its history is more mill town/rehabbed buildings than Louisa May Alcott and so on.

Not sure about a commute into Boston. Were you thinking of driving to the West Concord train stop?
