Bigshot is on a distinguished road
Default Suffolk County

First of all: let me introduce myself. I am Egbert van de Schootbrugge, a Dutch citizen.

Recently I adopted a grave of an American soldier during the Second World War, on the Margraten Cemetery in Holland. I adopted the grave of the following individual:

Name: Robert E. Nurse
Rank: Private
Army Serial Number: 11086809
Unit: 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division
Date of dead: 23rd September 1944

When I started searching on the Internet, I only found the following information: http://www.wwiimemorial.com/registry/wardept/pframe.asp?HonoreeID=1256025&popcount=1&tcount=2 . As you can see, he came from Suffolk County, MA. That's the reason why I post this message. Does anyone know a way to get more information on persons with the name "Nurse" in Suffolk County? Doew anyone knows a way to get more information about him? Archives? Libraries? Anything else?

Thanks a lot in advance for all your courtesy,

Kindest Regards,

Egbert van de Schoobrugge

What kind of information are you looking for? My dad does a lot of geneology research at the Boston Public Library. They might be able to give you some advice. Or perhaps a local veteran's organization would keep such records. I wonder if this site could help as well. They seem to be run by volunteers who help with people searches: Massachusetts Free Genealogy Look Ups from GeneaSearch Lookup Volunteers

Best of luck!!

Dear Scarletfire,

Thank you very much for your speed reply! I'm trying to find some people who knew him: brothers, sisters, his wife, maybe a child, neighbours etc.

I am trying to get information about him. I adopted the grave and know it's my wish to find more information about him. I have already some contacts with veterans from his unit, but they can't provide me with information, stories or photographs about his youth.

Thanks for the link. I'll take a look there and try something. Maybe your father can help me?

Kindest Regards,

Egbert

PS: I was a little bit clumsy in my first post. The information about Robert Nurse was a speed copy-paste from Outlook which brought a lot of codes with it.
