First of all: let me introduce myself. I am Egbert van de Schootbrugge, a Dutch citizen.
Recently I adopted a grave of an American soldier during the Second World War, on the Margraten Cemetery in Holland. I adopted the grave of the following individual: Name: Robert E. Nurse Rank: Private Army Serial Number: 11086809 Unit: 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division Date of dead: 23rd September 1944 When I started searching on the Internet, I only found the following information: http://www.wwiimemorial.com/registry/wardept/pframe.asp?HonoreeID=1256025&popcount=1&tcount=2 . As you can see, he came from Suffolk County, MA. That's the reason why I post this message. Does anyone know a way to get more information on persons with the name "Nurse" in Suffolk County? Doew anyone knows a way to get more information about him? Archives? Libraries? Anything else? Thanks a lot in advance for all your courtesy, Kindest Regards, Egbert van de Schoobrugge |

What kind of information are you looking for? My dad does a lot of geneology research at the Boston Public Library. They might be able to give you some advice. Or perhaps a local veteran's organization would keep such records. I wonder if this site could help as well. They seem to be run by volunteers who help with people searches: Massachusetts Free Genealogy Look Ups from GeneaSearch Lookup Volunteers
Best of luck!! |

Dear Scarletfire,
Thank you very much for your speed reply! I'm trying to find some people who knew him: brothers, sisters, his wife, maybe a child, neighbours etc. I am trying to get information about him. I adopted the grave and know it's my wish to find more information about him. I have already some contacts with veterans from his unit, but they can't provide me with information, stories or photographs about his youth. Thanks for the link. I'll take a look there and try something. Maybe your father can help me? Kindest Regards, Egbert PS: I was a little bit clumsy in my first post. The information about Robert Nurse was a speed copy-paste from Outlook which brought a lot of codes with it. ![]() |
