This is one reason why I bought in Westborough. Although not really close to Boston, not a really long drive either depending on what time of day and what day of the week I decide to drive in.

Smart move.

Born in raised in Central MA, I've seen few "up and coming" towns ever truly "come". Just when prices in towns like Shirley/Ayer, Marlborough, Hudson, etc. "recover", the next recession drives RE prices back down. East of 495 has proven to be generally stable. West of 495 only the premier towns are insulated from significant drops (e.g., Bolton, Groton/Dunstable, Harvard). Further west, the 190 belt is still well below 2003-2005 prices.

This place is becoming too popular. I got there at 5pm on Saturday and the wait was 1 hour. I don't mind grabbing a drink at the bar if I'm with my wife, but I can't wait that long with my kids. Sadly, I walked out and drove to Bertucci's

I've been noticing this as well. I don't bother giving it a go unless my desire for beer consumption strikes me at an odd hour. Perhaps the opening of Medusa will spread the crowd a bit thinner.

Is this going to be a brewery/restaurant like Beer Works or will it be just a brewery with a small tasting area?

Any of the neighboring towns to Marlborough would be fine or Marlborough itself. You could even look in Worcester. Worcester is urban and affordable, but doesn't have the best reputation. Good luck.

I hate it here more and more every day as the snow keeps piling up.

I ate dinner @ rail-trail in Hudson, and aside from the great Flatbread Pizza, they had close to 20 microbrews on tap. I had a Maine IPA which was pretty awesome. The people at the bar were all pretty friendly. I would say Hudson is kind of a happening town and will likely go up in Value. If you're interested, I came across someone looking to sell a completely renovated 3 bdrm home right on main street, about $280k I think
