We are moving to Boston area and wondered if you could help me decide where to live. Currently live in Princeton, NJ which has a central downtown with a European feel. The children will go to Montessori so school districts are not an issue. thank you

It's so funny that you are Marshall-Joanne, the names of my brother and sister-in-law. We lived in Lexington almost three years ago..might have read my previous posts? Lexington has a wonderful community including some of the best preserved historical homes in Ma. It has it's own recreation center just for the residents including an indoor ice rink, fields for all sports, pools, tennis,a gym and baseball. Very clean and beautiful with a charming little downtown section on Massachusetts Ave. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to Boston which is a drag when it comes to finding a parking spot. Can cost $20 for a lot when you tire of circling.
We are moving back to Ma. next summer but to Newton to be closer to the city but still have a suburban feel with great public transportation close by. When are you moving back and what are your key concerns about where to live? Feel free to email privately for more question. Can't speak of Andover...sorry.

Since Princeton is small, I think you would like Lexington or Andover better. As to Lexington or Andover, it depends on how far away from Boston you want to be.

Lexington, Andover, and Newton have excellent Montessori schools: Lexington Montessori currently in process of beginning "middle school;" long history of exceptional education. Lexington & Andover downtown areas are relatively "Princeton-like."
