Medway or Hollison? (Boston, Natick, Ashland: public schools, living in, train)

Hi, my husband is currently interviewing for a position in the area and I've begun to do my research in the hopes that he's offered the job! We are a Jewish family, with two grade school boys who are very athletic. We are looking for excellent schools and we'd like to stay under $500K if possible for a house. I've come across the above mentioned towns and they seem possible. Does anyone else have any ideas as to towns that would offer what we're looking for. Oh, and a walkable downtown would be a HUGE plus, but I realize unrealistic!!! Thank you so much.

Where is the potential job? That resolves a lot about how far you can look.

My girlfriend grew up in Holliston and went to the public schools there. She and her friends are doing great. Holliston has a significant Jewish population, not sure about Medway. Holliston's downtown is not like living in the North End, but there's a cute and somewhat walkable area that's very New England. Medway's downtown, if I recall, is smaller.

The knock on those towns is that you're facing some backed-up country roads to get to the Pike or the train in Ashland. Short of getting on 495, it can be a challenging commute. Of the two Holliston is closer to the Pike.

I'm not sure about 500K, but have you checked Natick? There are some threads on here about it. It has a nice downtown and somewhat easier access to Boston/highways.
