Hello, I just moved to Boston and its been a week. My workplace is in Waltham and have been staying at a friends place in Ashland and commuting everyday for nearly 1 hour and again 1 hour down. I would like to find a studio/ single bed soon closer to Waltham.

Please do suggest me affordable apartments in and around the suburbs of Waltham. I would also be buying a car soon once I sign the lease of my apartment.

Thank you.

Welcome to the area. Your budget will determine what is possible. What is affordable to you? Did you check Craig's list to see what type of apartments and rent you can find in the area? There is also option to rent a room and live with roommates if your budget is lower.

Good luck.

Hello,

Anywhere in the range of $600-$900 is affordable. I will check other options you mentioned.

Apartments and studios in this price range do not exist. You need to find roommates ASAP.
I would look in Waltham first, maybe add Watertown as well. There should be some option available with people looking for roommates.

Make sure to live as closest to your workplace as possible, it always saves you money and hassle of long and an expensive commute. Also, see if it is possible to use public transport to work, instead of a car, it will save you good bundle as well.

Good luck.

I would look on Craigslist for roommates. June 1 is next week, so there are likely some rooms opening up.

$600-900 is renting with roommates budget. Waltham hasn't had even studios for $900 a month in years.
