Hi all,

I'm relocating from California for a new job at a downtown Boston firm near Prudential. I'm not familiar with the area, so any help with neighborhoods in which to begin looking would be vastly appreciated!

The location would need to be easy to get to work from via public transit. I'd also prefer a popular area where it's easy to sell an apartment if I choose to move again. I'm single and in my mid-twenties, so somewhere with a decent number of other young people would be great. A 1 or 2 bedroom in the 400-500k range would be very doable, financially.

Any suggestions for a very safe, convenient location with lots of things to do nearby?

Thanks so much!

-Angelina

Brookline, Cambridge & Somerville are all accessible via public transit. You can even check into Newton.

South End if you don't want to park a car. Great area near the Pru. Best of luck!

Cambridge or Brookline for a young vibe and easy re-sale.

I think Davis Square (near Tufts) is a great area for young professionals.

Definitely the South End - you won't get a lot of space for 400-500K - probably one floor in a brownstone (1-2 bed) - but work will be right on your doorstep and you can walk everywhere.

I would not even bother to look 'across the river' in Cambridge/Somerville.

South End for sure. I lived there for a few years. You don't need a car, everything is close. Great neighborhood.
