That has absolutely nothing to do with what we're talking about. Brienzi said that the cops should just shoot suspects and most of us have responded to because it is a ridiculous idea.

I'm on my phone so I can't post a link but I just read they were involved in a plot to behead a cop. If this was already known then shoot first ask questions later was 100% correct.

That's what I heard too. Their mission was to behead a cop. That is not cute.

I would agree that whether we like it or now, racial profiling is now a part of life. It's sad but true. We can't take chances. Things have changed and WE were not the ones who changed them. Some people will be unfairly profiled and that is unfortunate but all of us must be protected from the ones who are crazy. No more 911 and no more Marathon Massacres.

I don't think this had anything to do with racial profiling. It involved monitoring of social media and other channels where plots may develop, and had no bearing whatsoever on this person's race or appearance.

I'm all for self preservation and doing everything we can to protect ourselves and our citizens, but I think we really need to look long and hard and find the root cause of all this, instead of just pumping fear into people and taking away our liberties (like the patriot act).

hmm i don't know, but it could have to do with 9/11 and/or a few bombings of the world trade center.

I dont feel any fear. I'm not sure how other people feel but maybe they are doing something wrong to feel that fear in the first place.

I don't know the facts and understand that our citizens have rights (was this guy a citizen)?

But I'll say this, we shouldn't spend too much time or money on terrorists. I know that goes against rights and all but I just can't help myself. I don't want to jail these people and spend money taking care of them while they lead a miserable life. And I especially don't want to risk them ever being released.

If the guy was plotting to behead a cop (or anyone) and the police didn't kill this guy, what would happen? He would lawyer up, be put in jail for a little while or maybe even released and then after some or no jail time, he'd likely try and do it again...or do something worse.

I agree.

And I'm not advocating that we just go kill people, that was a statement to just get a rise.

However i do feel that the terrorists that are under surveillance in our OWN country with good info should be brought to swift justice. Times are changing and perhaps we need to change also. I'm glad they killed that
scumbag and hopefully they get the others involved as they HATE the USA and what we stand for, so why
should they enjoy our freedoms. Citizen or not!

People from countries like the sudan, syria and Iran are embargoed from making certain purchases within the us. It's not just the fbi/police that profiles.
