I'm hoping that some people can help us out. My husband & I are planning a trip in our R.V. through Mass. We want to go to Sturbridge Village Mystic. Can you give us some ideas of other things to do/see while we are there? We plan on taking about week. (We plan on taking a week for each of the New England states).

Thanks.

Sturbridge Village is one thing; Mystic is in Conn. and is a totally separate thing. Both are cool, though.

There is too much to list here so I'll just list a few. One is in WMass, Old Deerfield. Another interesting place is Plymouth, Plimouth Plantation where you can tour like Sturbridge and also climb aboard the Mayflower replica.

The Cape is beautiful even for a day at the National Seashore and one overnight there. Rockport, at the end of Cape Ann, is picturesque and has loads of interesting shops and boutiques,

Old Ironsides (The USS Constitution) and walk part of the freedom trail to Paul Revere's home then to Faneuil Hall. Lunch at Durgin Park or Union Oyster House, both close to Faneuil Hall. Have lunch at Durgin Park or the Union Oyster House which are both very close to Faneuil Hall. Park the RV at a suburban subway station lot and take the train into the city.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am asking the same question in the N.E. states and I copied & pasted my first post and I didn't delete "Mystic" from when I asked the same question in Conn. Sorry.

I used to live in Chicopee but things have changed so much since then (I moved away in the mid '70s).

The last time we were in the Boston area, we did Old Ironsides-not saying it is not worth doing again. We do love historical sites but we also love things that are off the beaten path and not too touristy. One place we may do is the John Adams site. I know there are 3 houses. (I did the tour about 25 years ago or so).

Please keep the suggestions coming.

Thanks.
