Considering taking a job in Boston on Atlantic Avenue
(02210). Interested in finding single fam homes (4 bedroom) 3-350K range within an hour from work with safe area and good schools... do they exist? Because I sure can't find any.... City Suggestions? even surrounding state suggestions?

Welcome to C-D!

Your price range is probably $100K too low to find what you are looking for within a 1 hour commute of the Boston waterfront.

You may find something at 350 in Danvers or Beverly. 350-400 would be better.

Easier to do 4-5 years ago. Seems like most of the viable properties in Beverly are now in the high 300s or low 400s.

You will not get 4 bed in that price range with safety and good schools. Some compromises will be necessary.

You might need to look to the south of Boston which is still little bit cheaper then the areas west and north. Traffic is bad, so be careful about commute. Budget for train ticket and parking fees if train is more feasible to get you to work.

You can look in Quincy, Canton, Walpole, Norwood, Norfolk, Franklin. Prices made big jumps in the last five years, and your budget is becoming less able to buy family sized SF without some big compromises on location, size, schools. Many places will need serious upgrades, or much needed repairs that are passed down to the buyer.

Good luck.

Maybe in Norwood. I have no idea how you got it in your mind that these other towns are so cheap.

Check some MLS listings. Not that hard.

I cannot comment on the commute but you have 5 options in Franklin in that price range.

Understand that many of the <$400k listings in those towns are for homes that need a decent amount of work or have issues that can't be seen from pictures. That's not to say it's impossible for OP, but it's a lot harder than just looking at MLS listings.

The 1st one doesn't have any photos of the interior...

The rest are on main roads. Central Street is Rte. 140.

There are 2 train stations in Franklin that take you to South Station.
