I think we're going to reevaluate our budget and look at Newton again. Newton will place us close enough to Sharon for family time, and is a short commute to Brighton. We really wanted a 3 bath 4 bed home, but there are reasonably priced houses in Newton with 3 bed 2 bath, so that will be the compromise I suppose.

I looked at Solomon Schecter and was very impressesd, but tuition is double that of Shaloh House. Again, we're going to reevaluate our finances and see what we can realistically afford on top of a home. Our new budget is going to be 700k-800/850k....hopefully we can maintain it.

You should take a look at Needham too then. I'm not sure what your religious leanings are but we have two temples in town - one reform and one conservative plus a Chabad as well. Plus, your dollar will go further here than Newton and you'll be a step closer to Sharon.
