Smile Searching for best place to live btw. Boston and Westford

Hey everyone,

I am looking to rent an apartment or buy a *small* condo in the boston area, but I am working in Westford. I was hoping you all might be able to tell me where the best places to live between boston and westford are. Just to give you a little bit of info on what i'm looking for...I am a recent graduate so I'd like a younger crowd around with stuff to do, and a pet friendly area. And of course, I don't want to live too far from either area (avoiding traffic would be nice too!). Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Tif

stilarose...there is a two bed, two bath that has been for sale for awhile here in West Concord for about $300k or less. Heat and water included as well as a pool, tennis courts, recycling, garbage pick up and plowing. Very pet friendly. Concord has two locations to catch the train into Boston and all ages live here. Only twenty minutes or less to Westford and 30 to Boston by car. Otherwise, Arlington comes to mind to rent although the commute may not be too much fun. Renting with a dog can be challenging but easier with the real estate market in a slump. Easier to rent with a cat. We have four dogs here. No pet restrictions in Lexington, Bedford, Concord, Acton and Westford.

I think Arlington is the furthest away from Boston you should live. For a young crowd, you really want to be closer to Arlington, Somerville, Cambridge, .... etc.

I agree with Arlington. I doubt Somerville and Cambridge would be affordable. Remember that some condo assoc. have severe pet limits. Arlington has great walking areas for dogs, and is seconds from the young life of Camridge and Somerville (and a quick jump to Boston).
I wouldn't live anywhere else if under 30 (in fact, didn't until I was 42, but I wanted multiple dogs!). It's very easy to get to Westford from in-town, because you'd be going against traffic at business hours.
Anywhere else would probably be suburban hell, plus inconvenient to city life. Good luck- it's a great place to be under 30 (or 40!)
