we're moving to MA from ME and my husband has his sights set on Concord. I know it's pricey and very pretty with good schools, but so are lots of other towns in the area. Anyone have any thoughts about Concord, good or bad?
Oh goody...a topic I really know about! We moved here from Ca. in November. Concord chose us, we didn't really chose Concord. What I can say about it is it is very charming, not busy,no chain stores, roads are kept up,schools are good and lots of money is poured into them (have a freshman in high school) School bus service is run by the town and is free! There are two train stations, one in downtown Concord and the other by me in West Concord. It is very environmentally friendly and so are the people. The nearest large grocery store is about a mile up in Acton which is Stop and Shop which also had a Trader Joes and a Donelan's. We have our own mom and pop market here as well. Takes thirty minutes to drive to Boston and twenty to Burlington. We enjoy going into Sudbury,Wayland, and a quick ride into Natick as well. Just depends on what is important to you in the long run. Concord chose us because we found a rental that was reasonable that would take our four dogs and we don't pay for heat!!
