This thread is great. I love "pockabook" because that is exactly how we have always said it in my family. I don't have the accent at all in the dropping of my r's, but Boston vocab is too funny and I use most of it.

And some people posted that children's rhyme earlier. We always said it:

"Trot trot to Boston,
Trot trot to Lynn,
Trot trot to Salem,
And (baby's name) falls in!"

Just to add, I have noticed subtle things, like the way I pronounce vowels in a Boston way. In most of the country, the words "father" and "bother" rhyme, but they definitely don't to me.

By the way, since we are talking about children's rhymes, does anyone know this one:

"Chinese school has just begun,
No more talking no more fun,
If you show your teeth or tongue,
You shall pay a penalty."

My roommate from California thought that one was bizarre and he had never heard it before.
