We got hitched in Halibut point state park in Rockport/Gloucester. Old quarry overlooking the ocean real pretty. Ours was in Jan. a bit chilly but uncrowded.

I'm thinking somewhere over looking the ocean, like a rocky cove, maybe by a light house.

I Have to chime in here and insist you go to the Wequassett Inn on the Lower Cape. It is fantastic. I have lived in Newport RI- know all about the options there... Lived in Martha's Vineyard - Know all about the options there too ... travelled all over Europe and Caribbean (for work .. so I stayed in awesome places) and The wequassett Inn was one of the best places EVER !
Grant it, I planned my wedding around a full moon... so on a Brisk Sunny day in November, we married outside (In Gods Church!) with the moon gently rising above the water and the distant Sand Dunes over Pleasant Bay. I am here to tell you, it was so Romantic! The staff there were excellent.... five Star all the way and the food was excellent too.. IM me if you want any more info or photos.. btw , I do not work for the property, just a happy customer with an incredible memory for a wedding day. Oh did I mention I got to marry the best man ever! :-)

Boston
My beloved and I 'eloped' 11 years ago; we were married by a Justice of the Peace at Boston City Hall...the most romantic thing we could have done. It was just us and our son in room with the Justice... never forget it! I would suggest that, then staying at the Four Seasons which is right across from Boston Common. The accommodations are incredible (remember half price for you with the pound so strong!) as is the restaurant. You will feel right at home in Boston (we commute back and forth every 6 weeks from our home in London to our home in Boston). Definitely fly British Air; business class if yo can swing it as you can wait for your flight in the BA lounge where you can relax, have dinner, wine, etc. You can rent a car at Logan Airport (recommend Alamo) with a navigation system. After perhaps one-two nights in Boston (beware; shopping with the pound is very tempting!!!) you can venture down RT 2 all the way to Vermont with its beautiful foliage. That will take you about two hours. You will go through Concord (ouch.... Revolutionary War, but we are friends now, right?), etc, which is so beautiful. Anyway, hope this helps and enjoy! Let us know what you decide to do!
