I'm interested in this as well. Right now my wife sits with our kids on the weekends and walks them through coding sessions using online resources. However, she has an engineering background so it's easier for her to do this than it would be for a parent without a technical background. We use

May I suggest as well exploring the free or cheap online coding classes such as CodeAcademy and MIT's open courses? There are also lots of good tutorials on YouTube.
