For a newly renovated 750 Sq Foot 2 Bed 1 Bath in this area is it reasonable? I know that being that close to UMass Medical School carries a premium, but I'm not sure if the premium should be that high.

Ah ok. I wasn't sure because there are places almost as close for only $1100-1300/month for a 2 BR.

Buy a house in Worcester and pay similar or less than that for your mortgage. $1,500 sounds like a bit too much for rent in mustacheville.
