Default From Texas to Ma

Well, I have put off posting this, a little scared I suppose. I am hoping to move towards the end of the year (yes I am taking my time on this one). I am trying to make sure most things are in order and everything will not be last minute. I am not moving for a job, love or family I am just ready to "Go North"!
Those who know of the plan think I am out of my mind! I'll be leaving a lot behind, the closest thing will be my best friend in PA. Even he will be 8-6 hours away.

So let's see, I am a sinlge 32 yr old female from Dallas, Texas. I am not really looking to live in Boston but I also do not want to have to plan weekend trips to the store! Not so much into the clubs anymore, we spend most of our time at sports bars or at the games themselves. Just hope to find a new place to call home!

Thanks for reading and for your help!

HookEm', we lived in North Dallas for a couple of years (Denton County). Give us a little more info (like price range, interests, job etc...) and maybe we can help you out. And Welcome!

Great, I'm glad you are enjoying yourselves! I am actually in the City of Dallas, woohoo. I am not looking to buy anything anytime soon. I have really got to set and look at the differences witht he price of living, homes here in Texas are much less expensive than other areas. I hang out with friends at sports bars or at the games mostly. Drink a few beers, a glass of wine... I still love the "small town friendly" atmosphere that isn't here in Dallas. I grew up in a small town and miss that some. I have worked with commercial and residential appraisers for the past 6 1/2 years so that is what I know. I can tell you what your property is worth!, haha

Thank you for taking the time!

Texas and Massachusetts are in the same country- other then that they are light years apart. As the professorsenator alluded to- it will take time to adjust. But that may be fun!

Folks will no doubt look at you funny if you flash the "hook 'em 'Horns" salute 'round here! (LOL) And it's not because we're A & M fans.

Since you like going to pro sports events - shoot, who doesn't - and want to not be in the city itself, you may want to concentrate a housing search within the region south of the Mass. Turnpike (I-90) and inside/along the I-495 loop. This is because the Patriots play their home games about 30 miles out from town, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. (The Celtics, Red Sox, and Bruins all play in Boston.) So a community in that area would be most accessible for driving to see the Pats. Commuter rail service into the city is fair, and they add trains for some baseball games and Garden contests, not to mention the special shuttle train to/from town for football matchups. Visit mbta.com for more specifics. There are cities and towns for every income and taste in that sector. Check back in when you've done some narrowing down.
