There is also one on 20 right before Wayland, in a gas station though.
The big reno they did in that whole complex has really surprised me. In the past every business that went in there failed miserably. I'm not sure how honeydew will work out, not exactly a convenient place to pull into in the morning.
I guess no place is sacred or "above" having a chain donut shop; heck, Newbury Street just got another (!) Dunkin' Donuts recently (on the left as one drives down the street, below street level, somewhere around Exeter/ Fairfield, I think.)
No, I'm only shocked it was allowed in that carefully planned complex right in the middle of the historic district. I can only think the property is having difficulties attracting better tenants. So much for the hundreds of Save Our Historic Town Center signs.

At least some of the newer Dunkins are clean and somewhat cozy. Every Honey Dew I've been in is filthy.

29 Sudbury seems to still be popular. I don't really know the history that well. I do remember the dark and dismal tavern Ephraims from decades ago. As I recall it was in business a long time.
The original intention of the town was to turn the center more lively and walkable, with businesses where people might stay awhile. I don't see how lines of cars going in and out to get quick donuts and coffee is going to support the vibrancy of the center.
