Default Ideas for honeymoon

My fiance and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. We are getting married October 18th and are planning our honeymoon in the New England region. We are planning on visiting VT, NH, and MA. We love to stay at B and B's, but we have done some looking already, and it looks like the area jacks the prices for rooms up around Halloween.

We will be bringing our bikes. We would like to ride rail trails or city paths together, and I like to mountain bike. We also are looking forward to visiting small towns and enjoying shopping areas, and love fine dinning.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials East End October is such a vibrant time to be married--love the color's that I've seen for use (golds, browns, etc). Spring weddings seem to = cotton candy colored dresses, not attractive on 98% of women!

I've moved the bulk of the post I made to the NH forum

Congratulations! Perfect time to come here!
Although I haven't been in a while, I love Franconia Notch in NH.
Franconia Notch State Park - Lincoln, NH
Also, if Maine is somewhere on your list, I spent part of my honeymoon in Booth Bay Harbor. Quintessential New England. We stayed at the Lion D'or B&B. It was a long time ago but they're still in business 20 years later.

In Mass, it sounds as though you may like the Berkshires.
Invigorating & Empowering
Cape Cod may be a little out of your way but I'll toss it in anyway! October is probably one of the best times of year.

There's a very scenic 12-mile rail trail in the Pioneer Valley. The Norwottuck RT from South Amherst to the edge of Northampton could be part of a very pleasant circuit of rides through woods, farmland, scenic towns, and along the Conn. River from there north to Sunderland, Montague, and Deerfield. Amherst and Northampton are both fun towns for hanging out, eating, etc. For easier cycling through open country stay close to the river. For more challenge, consider a loop into the hills west of Greenfield and Deerfield. Don't know about the mountain biking locally but shouldn't be hard to find out.

Thank you for all the responses; last night we made our first reservation, in Burlington VT. We have decided to spend three nights in VT, two in NH, and then three in MA. When we move on to NH we want to experience the White Mountains and then we want to experience Boston and Salem in MA, but not necessarily stay in them.
