I just moved to Cape Cod, S Dennis, and have noticed a humming when it's quiet in my house. Is anyone aware of this phenomenon on the Cape or S Dennis specifically? I'm hoping it's something in my house but I suspect it might be something else.

In all seriousness. We need more info than what you have provided. Is threre a power station nearby? Do you have fluorescent lights? The ballasts can sometimes hum

If it's at 60 Hz, more than likely it's electricity.

I've read all the kooky stuff. I am one of the 2% that can hear it I guess and have friends that can hear it too. Just wondered if it was a thing around here. I've stayed in Wellfleet every summer my whole life and never heard it there or anywhere else until I moved to Dennis. Except I also hear it at my workplace in Mashpee. Guess I'll start with the electric theory.
