It's relatively big in population; obviously not in area, especially after losing Maine . But seriously, any C-D user knows the states that get lots of inquiries-- the ones like N.C., Fla, Ga. and Texas that are growing, that people move to from higher-cost states like Mass. Mass may be holding its own in population because, even as some move to lower cost states, others come here for the robust job market. Still, there isn't the volume of traffic to justify multiple subforums. Mass has lots of activity on sites like TA that are about travel and leisure rather than relocation.

Sometimes it feels like the only parts of the state that anyone here cares about are metrowest boston.

Exactly-- I abbreviated thinking it may be against some rule to mention another proprietary site with user forum.

I get that. The more affluent the area, the better the schools (if you have kids), lifestyle, etc. That is, if you can afford it.

Given that the majority of outside-the-area posters here have kids and want only the best for them, Metro West always pops up. You're right, though -- there ARE other parts of the state. However, it seems that nobody *wants* to admit that they cannot afford what I call the "Metro West Lifestyle.

But yeah, it sometimes makes me cringe too. It's like some people deriding the Merrimack Valley area (save Andover) because of the Lawrence/Haverhill corridor. The Valley is much more than that one particular area, and yes, there ARE nice areas in Haverhill which are reasonably priced compared to greater Boston.
