My husband and I are planning to move to the suburbs of Boston this summer and are seeking placement for our 14 yo with HFA. We are mostly interested in learning which public high schools are known to have the strongest programs/services for HFA. Really open to any town but have family in Needham so closer to there would be great. Thanks!

Newton is right next to Needham. It's special education programs are pretty crowded, but they're still very highly regarded.

You may want to investigate the towns that participate in the LABBB Collaborative

The high school programs are listed here: LABBB Collaborative

If your child is high functioning then Needham itself should be fine. My son also has ASD but he's much younger and more toward the middle of the spectrum. Where this school system fails the students IMO is more mid and low functioning kids with ASD.

What is your housing budget and do you have any commuting needs? These are often important considerations as well when house hunting.
