You might need AC here too, and you're not getting anything for 250k in the eastern half of mass, and no where with a good for MA school district

Not true. Outside 495 it can still be done, such as some areas of Worcester County. I still think NH is a better bet though.

Yes, the question is will their quality of life be better than FL? I doubt it.

I'm guessing you have kids since you mentioned schools? You also mentioned Drs', is someone ill? MA is not an easy place for middle class people. I'm not even sure a UPS driver salary would be middle class around here. I think if you move here you will find it hard to keep up unless you move to Brockton or the Fall River area. I grew up here and I can't believe how expensive it's become and I'm not sure why people would leave the FL area for here unless they were getting a very high paying salary. That's who you'll be competing for housing/spot in good schools with. And there are lots of them.

I find the education/medical thing to be kind of a bad reason to lift up your life and move unless there are dire circumstances such as severe health issues or learning disabilities. I know everyone here will disagree because they all think school is THE most important thing in the world, but education is changing. I say this as someone who works at a college. People are shifting to online learning/professional credentials to enhance their careers/education and that can be done from anywhere.

But if you want to struggle to try and send your child to a top elementary school then go for it. It sounds like you wont end up in Weston or Dover on your income so I just don't understand the struggle people go through just to live in MA because they think their children will end up going to Harvard if they do so.

Top schools are for the rich unless you have super smart or top athelete kid who can get special access/aid into these places.

Right. They would have to have REALLY compelling reasons to come to MA.

I want to build the education foundations through my kid's elementary stage all the way to high school.. since I can't offer college to them.. hopefully they could have scholarships in a good colleges.
Plus, my little one has a hyper mobility syndrome, doctors here have different point of views regarding his treatment. I was hoping that if I moved to Massachusetts I can get both education and health. Besides, Florida weather lately it's so hard to handle all the year around is hot and humidity and it's not that cheap. Renting Two bed rooms $ 15,000. When I was searching in Zillow, I saw houses to buy around 250k in Massachusetts in Holden and Jefferson. I'm not sure if they are good cities. Beside, it sounds that Massachusetts is so expensive more than Florida, until now I don't know how? If I found a house meets my budget, what else should I expect as expenses??

State income tax for one will be an extra expense. You probably never have to pay to heat your house, but it's a major expense here. We don't need as much AC so maybe it washes out. You're car gets rust problems from the salt so expect some repair bills you never needed in FL and shorter vehicle life.

You need to search for a cost of living calculator that allows you to compare how expensive the two places are.

Moving is a big investment and given the information you've provided so far, I think you will have a hard time adjusting to life here.

Has MA become the only state in the country to offer good schools amd healthcare? If you are overall healthy and only need to be seen for routine visits and get a few colds a year why would you move for the hospitals? In case something happened? Many people who have a rare disease where there are specialists here may move but many also simply travel here, stay at a hotel and go home.
