Default Info on Douglas or Uxbridge - Schools, neighborhoods??

Hi I just found these boards and think they are great. My husband just got a pink slip as a teacher in RI and we are looking in Massachusetts for jobs (both of us are in education). If we get jobs in MA I would like to move to the state and close to the schools we are in. I really like Douglas and Uxbridge because the houses seem so much cheaper than where we are and compared to other towns in nearby MA. I am a native RIer and can't be too far from my family

I would like to know any info you have on their schools and what areas are good areas to look at for houses. I like developments and like to be able to see my neighbor's houses. (I don't like to be isolated)

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have been talking about moving there for a while because our school system really stinks and I am sick of the politics that go along with it.

I only have outdated information. My husband taught in Douglas 10 years ago. He was not impressed at all.

I was born and raised in RI so I understand the desire to be near family. However, there's a reason those towns are affordable. Many of the people I grew up with moved to Uxbridge because they were priced out of our town and it was just over the state border from where we grew up. The schools are overcrowded and the test scores are subpar (in my opinion). Take a look at greatschools.net to research the schools. I would suggest checking out Sutton or Grafton.
