I'm generally interested in this topic... What are the desirable areas for well-off blacks in the Boston area?

From my clientele, I've noticed the following towns: Milton, Jamaica Plain, Chestnut Hill, Dedham.

Not: Metrowest - Wellesley, Weston, Needham, Dover, etc.

Where else?

Right next to the wealthy whites.

^This.

Most I'm aware of live in the Wellesley/Newton area.

Milton might have a few, but generally seem to be lower to upper middle class. The wealthy areas of Milton are still lilly white.

Dedham, blacks there tend to be less well off than Milton. A lot of working class who relocated from Hyde Park, Mattapan, etc. and now live in East Dedham (the least nice part of town).

Overall, there is not a significant wealthy black population in the Boston area. Not like in the D.C. area, for instance.

East Dedham is essentially an extension of Hyde Park

Newton's a good call, but I've lived in and around Wellesley for all of my life, and there are few black people here.

Sadly there just aren't many wealthy blacks in boston. Most of the wealthy people seem to be white Asian and middle eastern.

There seem to be a good number of wealthier blacks in Cambridge.

Weston? I think that some of the black pro athletes live there. More privacy than in Wellesley.

C-D shows the population as just over 600, or 2.1% of the population. Believe it or not, I think that is high for a wealthy town near Boston. For example; Needham it is 1%, Westwood .9%, and Hingham .3%. Case in point, you just aren't going to find a sizable wealthy black population anywhere in Greater Boston.

Ortiz lives in Weston but athletes tend to live all over. Ray Allen lived in Wellesley. KG lived in either Concord or Lincoln. I can't remember which. Vince Wilfork lived in North Attleboro. Brady lives in Brookline. The Patriot's long snapper recently moved to a neighborhood in Westwood where I have a listing. A Red Sox player (Brock Holt maybe?) just moved to Needham. Belicheck loves in Weston pre-divorce. Jon Lester used to live in Newton Pro athletes don't seem to be concentrated in one particular town.

And Aaron Hernandez lived in North attleboro....

I remember dana barros lived in Milton.

I guess we are getting off track of the thread.

Bostonbornmassmade will likely have an answer on where he thinks the rich black Bostonians live.
