Tantric is on a distinguished road
Default Greenfield/Northampton Area (Franklin County)

Is there anyone residing in this general area that may be aware of some decent 2br apartment rentals from private owners at an affordable rate say $750/mo or less? My current target date for moving is set for the end of Sept. with a reasonably low move in cost. Im also curious to get some general feedback about what others might think about this location for family activities, public transportation, entertainment sources etc.

Northampton has everything but it's expensive as are the surrounding towns. It's in Hampshire County. Maybe you could find something in Easthampton.

In Franklin County there's not much of anything as most of it is rural but Conway is a nice little town and it might be affordable for you. I'd stay away from Shelburne Falls because it's way out and isolated and anyway it has a pretty closed attitude to outsiders.

Greenfield, in Franklin County is another place to stay away from. Places like Turners Falls are pretty run down but probably cheap. I haven't been there in a while though so I don't know too much about it.

Housing isn't easy out in that area -- loads and loads of students keep the rental prices hiked up.

Greenfield is a seriously dysfunctional and hostile town.

Among the worst schools in Massachusetts. It looks normal on the surface, maybe run down, but it hasn't progressed in 50 years. Think Appalachia with an attitude.
