Default Eloping to MA - and we have NEVER been there before!!!

Hello!
My fiance and I have decided that we are going to intertwine our honeymoon and our wedding and get married somewhere during our trip! We have never traveled "out east" before (we are Minnesotians), so we have absolutely no idea where a great place would be to tie the knot during our vacation!!! We know we would like to visit Boston and see a Red Sox game, and also travel to Woodstock, NY for a show.
We will most likely be our only guests and so there is no need for an extravagant affair. I love the outdoors and gardens, if that helps at all.
Please share your wedding location ideas for a two person (Bride and Groom) elopment!!!!
Thanks a million!

If you haven't been out east before, I would recommend that you explore more than NY and MA. I suggest driving to the top of Mt. Washington and also visiting the Maine coast and having a real Maine lobster roll. Have you selected your travel dates yet? And how long will your visit be for?

No dates have been set and we have not yet determined the length of our stay - at least one week, maybe longer. I am thinking late summer/fall this year.
Thanks!

You could fly into Boston- spend a few days in the city- drive up to the Main coast for a day or two- then travel to New York City and spend 2 nights- along the way you could get married half way in Ivoryton Connecticut at the renowned Copper Beech Inn- just google 'Copper Beech Inn'.... the entire trip so planned would be unforgettable.

After leaving Boston, driving south to Newport RI is another option- then over into the lower CT river valley- staying at the Inn- then heading south to New York- stopping a few hours in New Haven to see Yale University.

Congratulations!

A few ideas:

Arnold Arboreteum - beautiful gardens!

The Decordova Museum - lovely little sculpture park & beautiful in the autumn

If you like historic places I think there's a rose garden at the Wayside Inn near the Sudbury line

Congratulations! I love that you're just up & going.. just the 2 of you!
We're also in the midst of planning..
Check out the Chatham Bars Inn.. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Chatham Bars Inn, Grand Oceanfront Resort, Cape Cod
It's located right on the ocean in a great little town in the cape! It's also a B&B and the food is wonderful!!! It might be a nice weekend type thing.. in between your travels! I haven't stayed at the Inn before, but we often drive down there to the lighthouse beach for a picnic. The ocean is massive, and there are seals everywhere! One of the prettiest sites in Cape Cod and amazing sunsets!!! Definetly look them up!
I am also researching wedding sites out this way and if I had the budget, (we're having about 150 guests) I would TOTALLY go there!
Also dig through www.maweddingguide.com.
Best of luck!
