Nice 2bd apartments around Burlington Mall?
Hi all,
me + wife might be relocating to the burlington mall area from atlanta, ga and would like to know how the rental prices are there?
right now i live north of atlanta -dunwoody - quite safe...and pay around $1100 for a 2 bd apt (1200 sq ft). i have a super walmart/target/hospitals nearby and would like to have some similar setup in burlington. what are similar sq ft rents up there? Which area would you recommend within a 10-15 min commutable distance that has got something similar there?
on a separate note, cost of living calculators have a wide difference in cost comparisons. i am trying to find how much difference in groceries, gas, utilities is there from atlanta to burlington? i already have seen craigslist and do see $300-$500 rent difference. i make six figure in atl and not getting any $$ extra for ma so want to line up my finances correctly.
looking forward to your comments....

A friend of mine lives about a mile from the mall in a new development where she has a two bedroom two bath and the complex has a gym and underground parking that you pay extra for. She pays around $1900. It's less expensive to rent from a private party in a multi family house or condo than apartments in most cases plus you might have a storage option in a basement or attic in a private dwelling. Go to Craigslist.com and put in Burlington, Bedford, Lexington, Woburn, Waltham, Arlington for a two bedroom rental and see what you get.

Well, like I said, check out the areas I mentioned in Craigslist.com for Boston. For apartments go to Rent.com or Apartments.com. Good luck.

This area is expensive, but what gets a lot of people is that a lot of the apartments are in older two family houses. Personally I love them and prefer that, but if you're used to a garden apartment like complex with parking lot those tend to be expensive.
You might want to look toward Reading and Wakefield also. They are not far from Burlington. Or up the other way, toward Chelmsford, Westford, and Littleton
