LOL, thanks for the good laugh--that's a perfect description of how Italian food makes me feel.

It's sad though when a familiar place goes under. There used to be a great Italian restaurant in Holyoke and another famous one in Springfield (Red Rose?) Both locally owned. Not the kind of restaurant I would want to eat at but I was dragged to both--desserts are good.

Management also changed in Braintree and things started to slowly go downhill. I am definitely sad but not surprised. Going to miss all the Bertucci's in my area for sure. Was a nice place to go to for a last minute pizza fix. Their dinners we great as well.
There's a lot more money to be made selling mixed drinks than there is in selling pizza and pasta.

Uno's is fine IMHO. The one in Burlington closed a few weeks ago. A Frank Pepe's is going into it's space at the mall.

I loved Bertucci's back in the day, so put me in the sad category. Sporkie with roasted garlic please. Yum!

I ordered a pizza to go from the hidden Blackfan Circle spot near Children's Hospital a year or two ago.

Wasn't that enthralled with it but still ate it all... can't recall if it had been better years ago because I didn't eat it consistently

But yes, I liked to get their sausage soup to go, with those rolls, years ago before becoming vegetarian.

I actually like the usually fresh and warm, self-serve slices at Whole Foods Market when in a hurry.

The Lechmere shutdown is still a tough loss to think about. I love shopping for electronics in person. There is a sight/sound/touch element to shopping for electronics in person that cannot be replicated online. CompUSA reopened some brick and mortar stores after being combined with TigerDirect.com but none of them are anywhere near here. However the real electronics store I want to see come to the northeast is Frys. They are described by many online as the be all end all of electronics stores.

Ouch. This is not on the scale of losing Lechmere. That was a huge loss in so many ways.

Count me as indifferent / sad (though mostly from nostalgia). However I will say you can do a heck of a lot worse around here than a pizza from Bertucci’s and my kids love firing down as many rolls as possible before eating the pizza.

Please do not confuse Pizza or spaghetti and meatballs with Italian food. Try Veal ala Marsala (or other ways) some time.

I was born and brought up in an Irish/Italian neighborhood in the Boston area. I consider Pizza to be barroom, street corner junk food no matter what you do to it, especially thin crust type.

Oh no! The rolls, I forgot the rolls.... This is worse than I thought... Maybe someone will get the recipe and sell them like the Jordan Marsh blueberry muffin
