Also, it would be good for the canal district bars. With the site picked, I don't know how they'll fit any parking. The city has money set aside to develop the area - it's in the Urban Revitalization Plan.

And maybe Kelly Square gets fixed...

Imagine 10,000 people exiting Route 290 and having to navigate Kelley Square (one of the most dangerous intersections in the state) before and after games to get to and exit the stadium.

I wonder how the Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics feel about the public ponying up some reported 60 million dollars for a minor league baseball park when they got no direct public money for construction of their venues. All they got was transportation improvements in and around their sites.

The new Pawtucket ballpark is $83 million. $38 million is just what the State and City are offering to kick in. Worcester says their ballpark will be $75 million.

....and the capacity is only 10k? That would be $8300 a seat. I guess revenue would support the price over time.....oh yeah....Go Redsox!

Rusney's contract would have nearly bought a new ballpark.

9 to 10k, compared with over 11k and weekend sellouts at McCoy currently.

Yet the team didn't need public financing to help sign him .
