This is a real stain on the MA State Police. It is made worse as it does not appear to be an isolated occurrence. It seems to have been fairly widespread. One would reasonably think that many officers knew what was going on and even if they did not partake in this unethical practice, were complicit with their silence. Shame on the MA State Police. Better was expected of you. You breached the trust the public put in you.

"One source told MassLive the three troopers are on the lower end in terms of the alleged theft of overtime cash during specialized patrols "

Maybe it's finally time to stop treating these people as if they are above the mortals who feed them.

Why did you expect better? They're cops.

Yeah, I guess you're right. It is pretty apparent that a lot of people go through life with their eyes closed, or they shelter themselves to avoid reality.

Not sure I see the point. Looks to be just another thread to bring out all the cop haters...

The governor is talking about potential RICO charges. I know it only takes two people for RICO but still that's a very serious charge. Usually that is regulated for mafia or gang activity. It's one thing to have a few people do this but if RICO is really performed that means it's connected.

Also consider this. These are state police, not local. The governor has control over them or at least he thought. There's going to be pressure from democrats to investigate this as a potential issue in the fall. It would be extremely hard for Baker to try to fight any investigation.

Well, of course its systemic. They taught and tutored each other to do this over generations, most likely.

And one just plead guilty. They start to fall.
