Hello,
Since last discussion about mortgage in this section(Massachusetts) is on 2017, please share if you know which mortgage lenders is the best in general at Massachusetts?
The apt/ condo i likely plan to buy is at newton/ arlington. But if the mortgage rate could much better in other district/ county, I open to consider it.

Thanks in advance for your time and info

Check out Needham Bank. They treated me well, and had competitive rates.

If you're making a purchase, I would strongly suggest going with a local lender. A mortgage originator like Guaranteed Rate, Fairway Mortgage, etc. would be a good choice. Alternatively, local banks like Needham Bank, Salem 5, etc. are also good choices. Credit Unions are a good option as well like say Direct Federal Credit Union for example.

For a purchase loan, I usually advise people to steer clear of big banks like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc. They're more difficult to deal with, have more red tape, and often miss deadlines in my experience. When keeping to a timeline is critical (like when you're purchasing a new home) you want to make sure your lender performs on time. There's nothing worse than having everything you own on a moving truck parked outside of your new home and you can't move in because your lender screwed something up and you didn't close on time.

If you were refinancing then it's less of an issue and you can really go with the person who gives you the best deal.

Boston Private Bank
Clinton Savings Bank
Digital Federal Credit Union
Quincy Credit Union

All great for mortgages.

Be sure that whenever you compare, read the fine print and make sure you understand the full closing costs. Some may offer a very low rate but charge sky high application fees, for example.
