The Sox won despite yet another bad outing by Price. Not because he's turned some corner. If your plan for winning 4 games against the Astros involves scoring 7 runs a night, you're going to be disappointed. Price pitched well enough to lose, but he got bailed out.

How about 8 runs?

What did the Sox give Tampa for Eovaldi? A bag of used balls and a broken fungo bat?

Meh, Beeks... who probably wouldn't do anything for the sox, but he did go 5-1 in 14 games with TB, but a high ERA. It is was a good rental, no doubt.

Hell, the Sox were accused of doing the same thing last year (and the employee from the other night's story is that Houston was concerned they were doing it again). Teams will push (and sometimes cross) the limits of doing what it takes to win. Always. Houston is an amazing team and has put together a run of success that only a few teams in the past 18 years can rival (the Sox being one of those teams, along with San Francisco and St. Louis, and possibly KC who was in back to back Series recently). They're a great team. They're not winning or losing because they're cheating.

Love that the Sox are up 2-1 though. I had Houston winning this one. They're just so good and our pitching is in rough shape with Price being a playoff no-show, Sale not at 100% and the bullpen being in rough shape. I really hope Porcello can do it tonight. It would take a TON of pressure off the Sox who, even at 108 games, are not favored to win the series anyway. But if Houston wins tonight, it's back to a very questionable Sale tomorrow and I don't like those odds.

All the pressure is on the Astros right now. The Sox know they are coming back to Fenway no matter what happens and can focus on getting a split in these next 2 games. The tide can change quickly, but this team is feeling pretty good after last night's game.

Well, with a win tonight and a win tomorrow, they aren't coming back to Fenway (which I certainly wouldn't mind, but I'm not betting on it), but last night definitely took a lot of pressure off the Sox. JBJ even said "We didn't win here last postseason, so it's good to get it out of the way).

Sale will not pitch Game 5. He'll pitch Game 6 (if necessary).

Who starts Game 5? Price??? He's supposed to be in the bullpen tonight.
