Default Commute to Boston from Shrewsbury

We are moving to the Shrewsbury/Westboro/Northboro area and wanted to know how bad the commute is to Boston.

Thanks

The turnpike (I-90) usually doesn't back up too badly, but the going can get slow during rush hours. Most people have pre-paid "EZ Pass" transponders now, so getting through the toll booths has gotten quicker.

Commuter rail service all the way in from Worcester to South Station has now been implemented, with extra runs planned. Visit mbta.com for more about schedules, station locations, etc.

You'd want to allow at least an hour, one way, for the trip. May I ask why you're set on moving in that far from Boston if you know that's where your work will be?

Thanks for the reply.
I dont really want to commute to Boston but thats the last option if I dont get any job around Shrewsbury/Worcester. I am an architect.
Also thats where we can afford to get a house with good schools.

Maneesha

1 hour from Shrewsbury to Boston on a GOOD DAY in the summer when the kids are off from school. It's around 1.5 hours the rest of the year from Shrewsbury to downtown Boston.
