I agree, drive through the area in the late afternoons and early evenings. If you don't have a car, ask a friend or rent one. Firsthand research is always best. Plus everyone has different comfort levels of perceived safe and dangerous neighborhoods. Any neighborhood has the potential for burglaries. Your priorities might be for safe walking areas around for you and your daughter, but some people may live in their cars and only drive around never stepping foot on a sidewalk. In the afternoons, in an ideal neighborhood for you, you might want to see kids playing around outside that are close to your daughter's age. And as an older adult without kids, I would prefer not to have a lot of kids in my neighborhood.
