The truth is even the most wealthiest of places still have crime. So if you live your life trying to duck and dodge reality, you are a fool. All you can do is teach and prepare your children for the world. Trust me when I say it's not just the people living in the "projects" that are sketchy.

what's important is how often the crimes happen and what types of crimes they are. no way would i live near those projects in north cambridge by alewife. i dont know where the people live that are sketchy in that area but they are there.
Not sure about other areas of North Camb but I would certainly stay away from that part of ringe ave/etc. Go more towards porter sq/somerville/davis (which is somerville,) arlington etc.
