Even in the wealthiest town in the state we are seeing the disturbing rise of the MEGA commuters to Boston who reside in this town. The only difference between them and the ATHOL mega commuter driving to 495 is these guys spend 10x on a house.

Take this high-tier teardown special:
https://www.redfin.com/MA/Wellesley/...2/home/8999638

That house in Wellesley driving to Backbay at 8am

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/88+M...1551772800!3e0

40-70min
midpoint: 55min

by comparison a house in Natick a few streets away (where the low-tier deplorables live)
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/42.3...1551772800!3e0

40-80min
midpoint: 60min

wellesley square (very nice area)
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/42.2...1551772800!3e0

40-75min
midpoint 57.5

These all become 40-45min commutes at 9am. The pike, route 9, and back roads around here clear up by then significantly. Its still a nightmare though as you get closer to boston.

Don't kid yourself - these Wellesley snobs in their 2M mansions are mega commuters too.

Yep. Wellesley is just outside the 30 minute zone to South Station. Sub-40 minutes on a train is totally different from an hour driving in the traffic jam.

I got news for you guys - not everyone in Wellesley takes the train. Only a minority do.

The bizarre train schedule makes it useless for people who are not strictly 9 to 5. For a population which claims to be against global warming, its doing a horrible job. Typical "do as i say, notas i do" BS

If you're not working 9-5, 8-4, etc than traffic isin't as bad.

Who only works 8 hour days?

Every job I have have had was 8 hours worked plus what ever you take for lunch. So 7-4 or 8-5 is more like it.

A lot of people have interests outside of climbing corporate ladders and trying to impress other people with how "hard" they "work."

Bingo. Talk to me about productivity not 'face time' at the office. Unless your in a service business/healthcare, most jobs can be done from anywhere. Compress the time spent at the office to get work done, step out and live your life.
