Default Recommendations for local moving companies

I'll be moving from Hudson to Newton soon (about 30-35 miles) and I was wondering if anyone knew of some good local moving companies for a small move. I only need about 10 pieces of furniture moved -- the rest I'm going to box/load/unload myself. Do any companies offer this type of service?

Nope. I have used Father+Son and Marlborough. I think they are the same company (not very good)

All moving company will move your 10 pieces of furniture. Basically, they will charge by number of hours and people. Usually, minimum 3-4 hours for 2-3 people. If it only take them 2 hours to move the 10 pieces, you will still have to pay the minimum (I think it starts ~$400). You may be better off for them to move everything if you were to hire a moving company.

Make sure you take your valuables. Your coin jar will most likely disappear.

You might want to try craigslist.com in the Boston section.

If you find someone, then check for references. I had a special request, for just loading a truck, and it worked out fine and cost much less than a regular moving company.

Good luck!
