Basically by best I’m looking for something with good parking and short/non-existent lines. Also, preferably close to Newton Street and/or Moody Street since that is the area I live near.

I used to live in Newton and really love this small USPS Branch just past the Watertown border. However, now it is about a 10 minute drive. That’s not too bad, but I figure since I mail so many things I’d love to save as much time as possible. I sell things online for a side hustle and while I mostly deal with light weight objects that I can drop in the mailbox at least a few times a week I’ll have bulk orders that are too big to put in the mailbox.

The one on Main street is perfect. I find parking in front or on the adjacent street all the time.

I used to go to that one. Parking is great, but the lines are incredibly long. The staff is nice, but I’ll probably never go there again. I save so much time going to the smaller ones.

Do you go around the time it opens?

I used to live by the one on Lexington closer to Rt 2. It would be a little bit of a drive for you but the parking lot is large. Lines were never very long for me, but I went pretty early.

I just go whenver I have time to squeeze in a quick trip. Like today I am going at around 3:00 PM or so. I wouldn't mind sticking with my Watertown location, but of course it never hurts to hunt. It is a short drive, but I've literally never had more than one customer in front of me. By contrast if you go to the Main Street USPS Office in Waltham at the wrong time you could be waiting in line for 20 minutes.

Consider using the self serve kiosk at the PO located at 1661 Mass Ave in Lexington. It's open 24 hours and the drop box will take packages up to 20x15x12. You can weigh, buy postage, and drop off the boxes when it works best for you. I you weigh and buy the postage at home, all you need to do is drop off in the box.
