I don't think one has a choice to step up their buying game from $300 k to $500 k - there is something called qualifying for financing!

Anyway, Holliston and Hopkinton choices for $300,000 are extremely limited. Take a look at Grafton - a few more options there, along with Upton, Mendon, Millis and Littleton. What is the furthest your husband wants to be from work?

Even in these towns I've mentioned, there are just a handful of properties available in your price range.....and, be forewarned, they are flying off the market.
