i have lived in Franklin MA for 13 years and in the past three to four years its been growing and becoimng an urban area. Franklin surley has its tough and poor sections. Theres a lot of crime going on such as graffiti, drugs, fights and break in's mostly in the city center section of Franklin where i live with my wife and two boys. (not the best idea to raise children there) all in all if you are looking for a nice place to live i would not suggest Franklin as starting point

Regarding crappy/blueblood/unfriendly communities: share your opinions on Hingham and Marshfield. These seem like nice towns, but I've heard Hingham is snobby and Marshfield can be trashy (I'm using that term lightly, and repeating what I heard, I am not the one who said that so don't get mad at me.) Conversely, I have also heard that a number of celebrities (Steve Tyler, Steve Carrel, Jeff Corwin, etc) live in Marshfield, so how can it be all that bad? Supposedly Marshfield is considered to be (gasp) friendly??? Share with me. LL

Marshfield is very diverse in regard to income levels. You get multi millionaire celebrities to hard working blue collar types residing in the same town. For that reason, I think it's a great town. I've never heard it described as "trashy" but I'm sure, given some of the opinions on these boards, someone has described it that way. LOL
