Default Third Party/ New politics anyone?

Are there any people in Massachusetts that would describe themselves as socially liberal, fiscally moderate, and want to see New England gain population?

Again, I dont mean cookie cutter, corporate America takes all. I mean simply an expansion of the greater New England "family." The idea of putting another 1-2 million people in Mass/RI doesnt scare me one bit. I think we need the property tax burden spread out a bit further myself. I also think it would be good for business.

Yes I'm basically a Democrat that is pro business... any of those around here?

If so, I'd love to meet you!

I dunno about you, but growth was what I loved about being living South... even more than their super customer service.

People were actually excited and optimistic.
Though I think both of those are indeed gaining ground around here.
I sure am glad to be home!

Problem with MA and politicians in general is...the more money you give them the more they spend and waste a lot of it.

I'm more libertarian than anything, but its funny because I never really heard of libertarians until I went to South Carolina and Texas.

I'd say there are plenty of libertarians in NH, VT, and ME. We just need more down here.

There will not be a real, viable third-party in the U.S. as long as the U.S. Constitution requires a single member district, majoritarian electoral system. See Duverger's Law : Duverger's law - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't want to see New England gain in population? There's too much traffic and gridlock on our highways already. If I have to drive through CT, I won't do it during the daytime as there's too much congestion on I-95. And the Mass Pike has traffic even on the weekends, Saturday morning and Sunday night when people are coming home. In the summertime, forget going to visit Maine or the Cape on the weekends. Too many people in New England! I don't want an increase in population! No to growth!

I don't want to see more people here in Mass. either but I think we need more people who pay taxes! We need to get people off the welfare and working so they can pay their own way! At least help "us" with providing everything for them. I'm getting pretty darned sick of "career welfare recipients" while some of us work their fannies off just to survive this economy. We need better politicians too. Those who are for the working people, not just the rich and themselves. Sorry, I digress.

Unfortuantely I have to disagree. I find our traffic to be easy compared to other places in the country. Besides dont you find CT's I-95 traffic due to never ending construction? Seems like theyve been working on 95 for about 20 years to me.

But thanks for the response!

Yes, I do find 95 totally congested in Ct and NY and DC and Georgia and....

That is why I don't really want any more people here but on the other hand...

I agree, but it is interesting to note that many of the founding fathers were afraid of political parties or a two party system. In many ways though, that is what they created.

There also won't be a viable third party until people break away from the traditional two parties, but eventually we seem to always end up with two parties.
