Default Radon and Plymouth County Question.

We have been looking at houses in the Plymouth/Kingston area for a few months now. We put two offers on houses. One in Rockland, and the other in Kingston. The Rockland house we backed out on due to Mold and Radon issues. We are currently in the negotiation process for the Kingston house. Of course, this house has a somewhat high radon level of 7.0. So my question is this, does anyone think that a Radon Remediation System deters people from buying a house? Would you buy a house if it had one? I am just thinking about resale of the house.

If the Radon Remediation System works, there should not be an issue. Hence, install the system and re-check to show it is fixed before buying. It needs to be fixed. It should be re-check every couple of years.

Is that level in a Basement or in the living area? If it is in the living area, the basement level would be higher. That is fairly high. With Radon, it is most likely that the entire neighborhood/area will have the same problem not just 1-2 houses. Hence, unless you don't want to live in that area, other houses will have the same radon remediation system.
