Default What is up with Nantucket people?

Ok so here is the story. I went to Nantucket this weekend for a long weekend for the Nantucket Wine Festival. I go every year and have a great time. However, since I spent a whole weekend there instead of a day I have to say I was surprised by how rude and superficial the people there were. I saw people looking people up and down and talking about them constantly. I had one guy standing right behind me making fun of me because he didn't like my sunglasses. I mean give me a break. I don't know if it was just jerk tourists playing a role or not but the people out there were disgustly rude and snotty. I'm truly shocked by how society is.

Hi...
Sorry you had a "snotty" experiance on Nantucket....but it happens. I have lived and worked on Nantucket so I have seen it all. I generally did not attend many events on the island...but I found the local community to be really nice. We actually got married there and although we no longer live there we do have a house there so we are still connected to the island. So...I am going to guess that most of the people at the wine fest. maybe had too much wine!

Not only did they most likely have too much wine, but the ones that were behaving like that were probably not even FROM the island! By that I mean they most likely "owned" their lovely property on the island BUT they still aren't natives. You wouldn't see too many natives behaving that way, only the people that think they're really something because they're living on the island now! Don't let them get away with a thing, give it right back to them. Say, oh excuse me, is there a problem? They won't know what to do, so just give it right back to them. That's how you have to be with "these type" of people these days, unfortunately! Good luck!

It's truly sad how some people in our society are and how bold they are to say thing's where the person can hear it. It tells you a lot about them and their upbringing.

Nantucket? I lasted two hours on that little uptight island before I was looking for ways to swim back to the mainland.

The Vineyard is better.

HAHA!! They're a pair or Revo's. I've had them for a few years. People are just idiots. I realize I have to stop caring what people think about me but I just felt it was so rude to make a comment where I could hear it. Some people are just so awful, pretentious, and phoney.
