Default should i move to worcester massachusetts ?

hi = )

i need to live somewhere with good public transportation; i can't drive because i'm considered legally blind. i don't walk around with a cane nor seeing eye dog but i would simply fail the eye exam required to get my license. so i really do need to live in an urban area.

not only do i need good public transportation but also to live in an urban area so that i can walk to as many places as possible : the bank, grocery store, laundry mat etc.

the catch is that my only form of income is supplemental security income. obviously i would have to get a roomate or subsidized housing. i've heard that worcester is relatively affordable and about 40 miles from boston. however, i've heard mixed things about how much there is to do there / how run down it is.

i'm a single female. i would be renting a one bedroom apartment if i had subsidized housing and a 2 bedroom apartment if i had a roomate. i don't have a college degree nor really any work history and experience. that's why i want to move to a large city so i can get a job, no longer need to live off of supplemental security income, and actually have a future one day.

so while i'm not looking for a fancy location / apartment i do need to live somewhere that gives me possibilities. i've always wanted to live in new england so i'm sure i'd like the weather and overall feel. any suggestions or ideas are welcome. i won't be moving for another year at least so i'm keeping my options open.

thanks,

~hope
