Default Moving to MA in 3 months!

We will be moving to MA from North Jersey in 3 months (wife, two kids, the eldest is 7 years old).
I appreciate all the help I got from you guys.

We think that Plymouth is we are looking for: safe, near the ocen, with a main street and friendly people. My job will be located in Rockland. Is there any beach community or something like that in Plymouth? It is the best way to make new friends.
We need a family oriented neighborhood but close to restaurants, cafes and shoppings. what about the commute to Boston on week ends? What is the difference in living between Plymouth and Kingston? Which is best? Schools are good in both towns?
thanks,

vicma

Default moving to MA

Hi! I would have a close look at the Plymouth school system -- it has been an issue for several years -- overcrowded classrooms, etc. I'd have a look at Carver -- it's one town away from Plymouth is beautiful and small but not too far from shopping, etc. Plympton is a very pretty town, too, but is part of a regional school system (Silver Lake Regional) and I don't think it's the best.

I'd vote for HINGHAM and, not because i once lived in this wonderful town, but because it would perfectly match your stated desires. It's also next door to Rockland and is certainly closer to Boston than Plymouth. Is it expensive? You bet! But, in these parts of the woods, you get what you pay for. And oh yes, the public schools in Hingham have a well deserved reputation. They may not be the "best" ...whatever that may be in your judgement, but few are better. Hingham is one of those costal towns that realtors once refered to as "the great white way." That's pretty awful and certainly today not PC, but not so many years ago, it was a metaphor for what was then gripping Boston.
